Families may pre-register at one of our pre-registration events held in late June through late July or they may register on-site at the Fair on August 2. Information on pre-registration event dates, times and locations will be posted in late April. To qualify and register for free school supplies, families will be asked to complete a registration form and show proof their child or children attend a Dallas ISD school or live in the City of Dallas and meet the 2019 Federal Poverty Guidelines. Listed below are ways to show proof of qualification.

HOW TO QUALIFY FOR FREE SCHOOL SUPPLIES

For Dallas ISD students

Families must show proof that student or students attend a Dallas ISD school by providing student ID number. Student ID numbers can be verified by showing ONE of the following documents:

  • Most recent student report card
  • Letter from student’s school stating the student attends a Dallas ISD school
  • Student ID card
  • Printout from the online Parent Portal that shows student’s ID number

Documentation provided above may be a printed copy, an electronic copy or photo shown from a phone.

For non-Dallas ISD students

Families must show 3 documents to qualify for school supplies. A picture ID, proof of City of Dallas residency and proof they meet the 2019 Federal Poverty Guidelines

Examples of what can be used for Picture ID:

  • Texas state driver’s license
  • Texas state identification card
  • Military identification card
  • Foreign consulate-issued identification (i.e. Matricula Consular)
  • School, Employer work identification card
  • Church ID card

Examples of what can be used for City of Dallas proof of residency:

  • Utility bill (electricity, water, phone, cable or gas) showing applicant name and current address from either May, June, July or August 2019
  • Any mail sent to applicant showing applicant name and current address, with a postmark from either May, June, July or August 2019
  • Letter from landlord or apartment management company, on company letterhead, indicating proof of residency during May, June, July or August 2019

Proof of income may be verified using:

  • Paycheck stub from May, June, July or August 2019
  • A letter dated in May, June, July or August 2019 on agency or company letterhead from an employer, welfare office, caseworker, or Social Security Administration Office indicating annual income and signed by an agent of the company or agency. Letter must include contact phone number for verification.
  • Medicaid, unemployment, disability, or SNAP food benefit letter/card
